Ravi Rajagopal Has Stepped Down From Fortis Malar Hospitals & Fortis Healthcare Boards
Ravi Rajagopal will step down from his roles as Non-Executive Independent Director at Fortis Malar Hospitals Limited and Chairman and Non-Executive Independent Director of Fortis Healthcare Limited, effective September 30, 2024. This decision is due to his increasing Board commitments in the UK and other regions.
Rajagopal, 67, is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) with 35 years of experience in major consumer goods companies. He has been Chairman of Fortis Healthcare since 2018. Additionally, he serves as Vice Chairman and Independent Director of The Peabody Group and as Director and Audit Chair of Airtel Africa Plc. He is also a trustee of the Science Museum Foundation UK. His previous roles include Director and Audit Chair at Vedanta plc, Diageo nominee Director at United Spirits, India, and a 20-year tenure at Diageo plc. Prior to Diageo, he worked at ITC India. Rajagopal chairs an Advisory Board managing over 8,000 childcare centres in northern India and is a trustee for a group of four schools in Chennai that provide free education to over 1,100 underprivileged children. He has also lectured on behavioural economics at the Saïd Business School, Oxford University, and Imperial College, London.
