Sukumar Hebbar Succeeds Vinayak Pai As CEO & MD Of Tata Projects

Tata Projects Limited has appointed Sukumar Hebbar as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) with immediate effect. He succeeds Vinayak Pai, who led the company since 2022.

Sukumar Hebbar joins Tata Projects after over three decades at Larsen & Toubro, where he last served as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Infrastructure IC Head for the transportation infrastructure business. He was responsible for projects involving roads, bridges, formation works and railways. An architecture graduate from the University of Mysore, Hebbar is also an alumnus of INSEAD’s Advanced Management Programme in Organisational Leadership. He began his career in 1990 as a Graduate Engineer Trainee.

Before joining Tata Projects, Vinayak Pai held leadership positions at Jacobs as President of ECR and at Worley as Group President, Energy and Chemical Services. He has served as Vice Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Maharashtra and Chairman of its National Committee on Roads & Highways. An alumnus of the College of Engineering Pune, Symbiosis College Pune and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, he has received several industry recognitions, including the CIDC Vishwakarma Doyen of the Industry Award 2024.
