
Kotak Mahindra Bank CEO & MD Ashok Vaswani Not Seeking Re-election; Succession Process Begins
Kotak Mahindra Bank Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) Ashok Vaswani will not seek re-election at the end of his term this year, setting the stage for a leadership transition at the private sector lender.
The bank has begun the process of identifying a successor. According to reports, internal executives Paritosh Kashyap and Anup Saha are among the potential candidates for the role.
Vaswani has more than 35 years of experience in global banking and financial services. Before joining Kotak Mahindra Bank, he held leadership positions at Citigroup, Barclays, and Pagaya Technologies. At Barclays, he served as CEO of Barclays UK and later led its Global Consumer, Private, Corporate, and Payments businesses. Earlier, he was CEO of Citigroup Asia Pacific. He also served as President of Pagaya Technologies, focusing on AI-based financial services. Vaswani has been a Board Member of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), Visa, and SP Jain Institute. He is a Commerce graduate, a Chartered Accountant, a Company Secretary, and has completed executive education at Stanford University.
