Hikal Appoints Ranjana S. Salgaocar as Independent Director

The Board of Directors of Hikal Limited has approved the appointment of Ranjana S. Salgaocar as Additional Director in the category of Independent Directors for a term of five years, with effect from March 23, 2024. Subject to the approval of shareholders.

Ranjana S. Salgaocar is Director and partner in various companies and LLPs within the VIMSON Group, a diversified conglomerate with interests spanning mining, trading, financial services, mining consultancy, mining and metals accelerator, strategic investment portfolios, real estate, health, agriculture, sports, community welfare, and pharmaceuticals. Her extensive Board experience includes serving as an Independent Director, for two terms on the boards of two banks, South Indian Bank and Syndicate Bank. At South Indian Bank (SIB), she chaired the Shareholder Grievances and CSR committees and was a member of the Nominations and Remunerations Committee. She is the President of Salgaocar Medical Research Centre (SMRC) and is actively involved in the operations of SMRC’s V M Salgaocar Hospital, a multi-specialty, not-for-profit hospital in Goa. She was a member of the Planning Board of the Government of Goa and a member of the Executive Council of Goa University. She was the Chairperson of the Indian Red Cross, Goa, the President of the Goa Women’s Football Association, and a member of the executive committee of the ‘Special Events Committee” of the Ladies Wing of the Indian Merchant Chamber, Bombay. She holds a Master of Management Studies from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai University, and is a Gold Medallist in the Bachelor of Social Work at Mumbai University.
