Judith Hartmann Succeeds Wolfgang Nickl As CFO Of Bayer AG
Bayer AG announced the appointment of Judith Hartmann as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective March 1, 2025. She will succeed Wolfgang Nickl, who retired on June 1, 2025, after serving as CFO since 2018.
Hartmann joins Bayer from private equity firm Sandbrook Capital, where she served as Operating Partner. She previously held senior finance leadership roles, including Deputy CEO and Group CFO at Engie from 2015 to 2022, and interim Co-CEO in 2020, overseeing operations in North America and the UK/Ireland. Earlier, she was CFO at both Engie and Bertelsmann. Hartmann also held key finance and operational positions at GE across the US, Latin America, and Europe, and began her career with The Walt Disney Company in Paris. She currently serves on the Boards of NeXtWind, Unilever, and Marsh McLennan. Hartmann holds a PhD in economics and an MBA from WU University of Business Administration and Economics. At Bayer, she will oversee financial strategy, capital allocation, and investor relations.
