VI Appoints Gopika Pant As Independent Woman Director
The Board of Directors of Vodafone Idea Limited on 14 September 2026 has approved the appointment of Gopika Pant, as an Additional Director, qualifying as an Independent Woman Director for a term of 5 years with effect from 17 September 2026, subject to approval of the members.
The Board has also approved the appointment of Anil Berera and Gopika Pant as Independent Directors.
Pant has over 40 years of experience in corporate and commercial law. Her areas of expertise include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, banking and finance, foreign investments, corporate restructuring, and intellectual property law. She co-founded Indian Law Partners (ILP) in 1999 after serving as a partner at a leading Indian law firm. She was recognised in the Forbes India Legal Powerlist 2020 and 2021 among India’s Top Managing Partners. She has also been featured in the ‘A’ List of India’s top 100 lawyers by India Business Law Journal for 10 consecutive years. She holds a B.A. (Hons) from St. Stephen’s College (1982), an LL.B. from Delhi University (1985), and an LL.M. from Columbia University (1986). She was also admitted to the New York State Bar.
