Timex group India Appoints Independent Directors

The Board of Directors of Timex Group India Limited has approved the appointment of Meeta Makhan as an Additional Director, designation as Independent Director, with effect from February 1, 2024, for a term of 5 years. Simultaneously, Sanjeev Kumar and Dhanashree Ajit Bhat have been appointed as Additional Directors, both designated as Independent Directors, with effect from February 1, 2024, and for a period of 5 years. Furthermore, the appointment of Marco Zambianchi as an Additional Director (Non-Executive Non-Independent) has been approved, and he will serve in this capacity until the next Annual General Meeting of the Company. All the changes are subject to the approval of the shareholders.

Meeta Makhan, a seasoned finance professional with 25 years of diverse experience in banking, advisory, impact investing, fund raising, and corporate governance. Makhan has held leadership roles in transnational banks and Indian organisations, with a focus on sustainable initiatives in urban India and organic farming. Currently, an Independent Director on the boards of SV Creditline Ltd., Doundo Services Pvt. Ltd., and Advent Enterprises Private Limited. She also advises impactful startups, including Amida Tech. Previously, held senior roles at Bank of America, Barclays Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank N.A., and IDFC First Bank. She holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Delhi University and is an MBA from IIM Lucknow.

Sanjeev Kumar, has over three decades of experience, began in 1987 with the Fertilizer Corporation of India and later worked at the Oil & Natural Gas Corporation. At Essar Group, he played a key role in Human Capital Management and drove exploration and production initiatives. Post-Essar, as Vice President – HR at various organisations, he continued contributing his expertise. Currently advising organisations on setting up best HR practices for sustainable growth. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, is an MBA in Personnel Management and Marketing. He also holds a Diploma in Performance and Talent Management from Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.

Dhanashree Ajit Bhat, has over 28 years of diverse experience in IT business operations, is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Persistent Systems. Previously, Bhat spent 21 years at Tech Mahindra, as Global Chief Delivery Officer and Business Unit Head for various regions. Committed to social causes, she actively partners with NGOs, particularly advocating for women in technology and girl child education. She holds a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and Software Architectures.

Marco Zambianchi joined Timex Group in October 2023 as President, Timex Business Unit. With nearly 30 years of experience, Zambianchi has a track record of revitalising brands and achieving significant growth. Before Timex, he held leadership positions at Technogym, Pirelli Tire North America, and Carlsberg Italia. Originally from Italy, he is currently based in New York. He is an Electrical Engineer with an MBA.
