Sunil Munjal, Vimal Bhandari, Pradeep Dinodia retire from DCM Shriram Board

DCM Shriram Limited noted the impending completion of the 2nd term of Pradeep Dinodia, Sunil Kant Munjal, and Vimal Bhandari as Independent Directors of the Company, to be effective from the conclusion of the ensuing 35th AGM to be held on July 16, 2024.

The Board has announced the appointment of Pradeep Dinodia as Non-Executive Non Independent Director of the company, with effect from the conclusion of the ensuing 35th AGM.

The appointments of Pranam Wahi, Seema Bahuguna, Simrit Kaur, and Vipin Sondhi as Independent Directors of the company are effective from the conclusion of the 35th AGM for five years.

Furthermore, the Board has approved the appointment of Swati Patil Lahiri as the acting Company Secretary and compliance officer of the company, with effect from the cessation of the office of Sameet Gambhir.

Sunil Kant Munjal is the Chairman of the Board of Hero Enterprise. He joined the company in 2003. He has overseen the administration of the Doon School and holds positions on the boards of IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA), ISB, and SRCC. Additionally, he co-founded BML Munjal University (BMU) and holds the position of President at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana. Earlier, he served as President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the All India Management Association (AIMA). He serves as a trustee at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in the US and is a member of the President’s Council at the University of Tokyo. He has contributed significantly to Indian policy-making, serving on committees such as those focusing on banking and financial sector reforms (Narasimham Committee) and the introduction of GST (Kelkar Committee). Recognised for his business acumen, he has been honoured as one of India Today’s “Faces of the Millennium.” He has received awards including the Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Social and Industrial Peace and the Udyog Rattan Award for his contributions to Punjab’s industrial growth. Also, he was bestowed the GlobScot Award by the Scottish Government for his significant role as an employer in Scotland.

Vimal Bhandari is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and has served on the Board of the company since 2003. He has 35 years of experience. Currently, he is Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Arka Fincap and Chairman of the Board of the HDFC Trustee.
