Suhas Tuljapurkar Honoured for Leadership in Indian Corporate Legal Sector
Suhas Tuljapurkar, the founder and director of Legasis Pvt. Ltd., was honoured with the “Certificate of Excellence” as a recognition of leadership, outstanding achievement, and contribution in the field of corporate law in India. Every year, 50 General Counsel and 50 legal service providers and law firm partners are recognised for their outstanding contributions and strong leadership qualities at the British Parliament. The award ceremony took place on October 3, 2023, at the House of Commons in London, with Virendra Kumar Sharma, a Member of Parliament from the United Kingdom, presenting the awards.
Suhas Tuljapurkar, an experienced lawyer and member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa, advises a wide range of clients, including businesses, governments, and nonprofits. He specialises in Governance, Risk, Assurance, Compliance, and Ethics (GRACE), with a focus on information technology. He’s referred to as the ‘Compliance Man of India’ for his work at Legasis, where he ensures over 2500 corporate entities have strong compliance solutions. In 2006, he founded Legasis Services, India’s first legal tech enterprise. He has been instrumental in developing various IT-enabled legal support solutions such as Legatrix (Compliance Management Solution), StarBoards (Board of Directors’ Evaluation Software), LIPs (IPR Management Solution), the Flute (Innovation Capture Solution), CARRAR (Contract Management Solution), Roznama (Litigation Management Solution), and LegRoom (Virtual Data Room Solution). He’s been a driving force in creating legal compliance solutions for smart cities in partnership with the UN Global Compact Network India. As an advisor to Maharashtra’s Digital Crime Unit, he developed tools to tackle illegal websites. He’s also consulted with governments to draft laws and managed international legal cases. Suhas is a National School Residential Scholar, has received numerous awards, including the Udyog Ratan Award, and is a respected blogger, writer for legal journals, and public speaker.
