Lighthouse Communities Foundation Lists on BSE Social Stock Exchange to Scale Youth Livelihoods

Lighthouse Communities Foundation (LCF), a non-profit working to build sustained livelihood opportunities for underserved youth, marked its listing on the Bombay Stock Exchange’s (BSE) Social Stock Exchange (SSE) with a bell-ringing ceremony on October 29, 2026. The listing followed a public issue of Zero Coupon Zero Principal (ZCZP) instruments held from September 30, 2026 to October 14, 2026.

The SSE is a specialised electronic fundraising platform that allows social enterprises and non-profit organisations to raise capital from the public. In India, it operates as a dedicated segment within established stock exchanges, including the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), under the regulatory framework of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). So far, over 100 non-profit organisations have registered on each of the BSE and NSE platforms.

Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, Co-Founder & Chairman, LCF, said, “Our team at LCF is delighted that our work with nearly 3 lakh underserved youth has led us to an important milestone – the SSE listing. Ringing the bell at BSE today is a proud moment for everyone who has been part of the Lighthouse journey, from our young people and partner organisations to the corporates and governments who backed us early. We are grateful to everyone who supported the issue, and we look forward to transforming a million youth nationally, helping them choose and build the careers they aspire to.”

The listing provides a regulated and transparent route for corporates, CSR partners and impact investors to support LCF’s youth livelihoods model. The organisation has enabled 52,000+ underserved young people across six states to access sustained livelihood opportunities, with its programme combining career guidance, vocational skilling and employer linkages.

The bell-ringing ceremony was led by Chief Guest Manisha Verma, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra, alongside BSE and LCF leadership. BSE was represented by S. Gopalan, Executive Director, and Radha Kirthivasan, Head, Listing and SME, BSE Limited.

Proceeds from the issue will support LCF’s expansion in Pune, with the fundraising aimed at helping 500 young people build career awareness, confidence and job-readiness skills to access sustained livelihoods.
