Sandeep Bakhshi Reappointed as MD & CEO of ICICI Bank

RBI has approved the reappointment of Sandeep Bakhshi as Managing Director & CEO of the Bank with effect from October 4, 2023. Earlier at the Annual General Meeting held on August 30, 2023, the Shareholders had approved the reappointment of Bakhshi for the period of 3 years.

Before becoming the Managing Director and CEO, he served as a Whole Time Director and held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at ICICI Bank. Bakhshi has been associated with the ICICI Group since 1986 and has taken on various roles within the group, including positions at ICICI Limited, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, ICICI Bank, and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.

He comes from a defence services family background and attended multiple schools and colleges throughout India before completing his management studies at XLRI in Jamshedpur.
