Ravi Kunwar to head Nokia’s India operations
HMD Global, the company behind Nokia-branded smartphones, has announced the appointment of Ravi Kunwar as the head of its operations in India. Kunwar, who previously held the position of Vice President for Asia Pacific and China, will now serve as the Vice President for the Indian Subcontinent, Vietnam, and Indonesia. He brings extensive experience in the industry, having worked for Microsoft India as the Director of Sales and Marketing for mobile devices and services business, as well as serving Nokia for around 11 years. While Kunwar takes over the Indian operations, Sanmeet Singh Kochhar, Vice President at HMD Global, will continue to oversee exports from India as part of the company’s global operations. HMD Global sees India as a significant market for investment and aims to increase the sourcing of devices for import purposes from the country.
