R. Venkataraman Takes over As MD Of IIFL Capital; Rekha Warriar Appointed Chairperson

R. Venkataraman has been appointed as the Managing Director and Key Managerial Personnel of IIFL Capital Services Limited w.e.f. March 22, 2025, subject to requisite regulatory and shareholders’ approval.

Venkataraman succeeds Nemkumar H., who has resigned from the post of Managing Director and a Board member, as well as Key Managerial Personnel of the company, effective March 22, 2025.

Further, Rekha Warriar, Independent Director, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Board w.e.f. March 22, 2025.

R. Venkataraman is the Co-Promoter of the company. He has been associated with the IIFL Group for 24 years, contributing to the establishment of various businesses and leading key initiatives. He previously held senior managerial positions at ICICI Limited, including ICICI Securities Limited, its investment banking joint venture with JP Morgan. He has also worked at Barclays – BZW and served as Assistant Vice President at GE Capital Services India Limited in its private equity division. He has over 31 years of experience in the financial services sector. Venkataraman holds a postgraduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, and a bachelor’s degree in electronics and electrical communications engineering from IIT Kharagpur.

Rekha Warriar has over 30 years of experience with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), working in departments such as Foreign Exchange, Financial Stability, Internal Debt Management, and Rural Development. She has served as a faculty member at RBI’s training colleges and as an Associate Professor at the National Institute of Banking Management, Pune. She retired as Regional Director for West Bengal and Sikkim, RBI, in July 2017. Warriar holds a master’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of Bombay and a master’s in public policy from Princeton University.
