Palamadai S. Jayakumar and Pradip M. Kanakia Appointed As Independent Directors Of ICRA

Palamadai Sundararajan Jayakumar and Pradip Manilal Kanakia have been appointed as Independent Directors of ICRA Limited, effective November 1, 2024.

P. S. Jayakumar is the former MD and CEO of Bank of Baroda. He is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He also holds an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur and a Chevening Scholarship from the London School of Economics. He joined Citibank NA in 1986 as a Management Associate and later became the Co-Head of Citibank India. Jayakumar then became Bank of Baroda’s Managing Director and CEO (2015-19), where he oversaw the merger of Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank. He advises companies and is on the Boards of Adani Logistics, Emcure Pharmaceuticals, and JM Financial, among others.

Pradip Kanakia is a financial specialist and Chartered Accountant who is certified in both England and Wales and India. He specialises in finance, governance, and strategic transformation. Throughout his 36-year career, he held leadership positions at Price Waterhouse and KPMG, managing audits in a variety of industries under Ind-AS, IFRS, and US GAAP standards. Kanakia also established a Non-Executive Directors Program at Price Waterhouse, which attracted senior professionals from Mumbai and the NCR. He currently advises startups and sits on the Boards of Britannia Industries, JM Financial, Torrent Gas, and other companies.
