Michael Hutchins Appointed As Interim CEO of Freddie Mac

On Friday, Freddie Mac announced the appointment of Michael Hutchins as interim CEO as the federal government-backed company continues to seek a permanent leader. Michael Hutchins will fulfil this role until either a permanent CEO is appointed or until September 30, according to the company’s regulatory filing.

Hutchins, who has been serving as the company’s president since 2020 and is a member of its senior operating committee, has more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector. He has worked with UBS and Salomon Brothers. He joined Freddie Mac in the year 2013. He will assume the role from Michael DeVito on March 16, who served in the position for nearly three years.
