MCA21 continues to fail to function, even as businesses face the burden of difficulties
Companies attempting to file regular updates through MCA21, the official website of India’s Corporate Affairs Ministry continue to face regular hurdles. Glitches in the site’s operation have been delaying the operations of businesses’ due diligence and market analytics work.
Multiple sources told the Times of India that professionals have been having problems with the site for over a year. It all started when MCA and LTIMindtree (which maintains the portal) upgraded to a new version of the portal known as Version 3 (V3).
The new version was initially available for limited liability partnership companies. It was made available to all types of enterprises in 2023. The site’s troubles are not confined to glitches seen while uploading documents. Accessing papers is also becoming difficult, according to the study, which cited portal users.
Those who need to access the historical data older than a year must use their V2 login. The finance ministry assured firms that the problems will be fixed. However, nothing has changed. Despite several customer complaints, there has been no response, based on the study. According to ToI, LTIMindtree has yet to reply to inquiries about the matter. The corporate affairs ministry has launched a series of meetings with chartered accountants and company secretaries, as well as LTIMindtree, to address the issue.
