LIC CFO Sunil Agrawal Resigns, To Step Down On July 14

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has announced the resignation of its Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel (CFO & KMP), Sunil Agrawal, who will step down from his role effective July 14, 2026. Agrawal submitted his resignation on June 24, citing his decision to pursue other career opportunities.

Before joining LIC, Agrawal served as CFO at Reliance Nippon Life Insurance and held finance roles at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. LIC acknowledged his contributions and said he had offered support to ensure a smooth transition following his departure. He joined LIC in March 2022 on a contractual basis and became the insurer’s first major lateral hire for the finance chief role ahead of its initial public offering (IPO). During his tenure, he oversaw key financial functions at the company as it navigated its transition into a listed entity. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science & engineering and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI).
