Kedar Lele is new MD of Castrol India, Satyavati Berera Joins as ID
Castrol India Limited appointed Kedar Lele Managing Director (MD) of the company, effective November 1, 2024, and Satyavati Berera has been appointed as an Additional Independent Director, effective October 1, 2024. Both appointments are for a term of five years. The company has also informed that Nicola Buck has ceased to be a nominee Director, effective June 11, 2024, and Sandeep Sangwan will relinquish his position as the Managing Director, effective October 31, 2024.
Kedar Lele has over 25 years of experience in advertising, internet, FMCG sales and marketing, and general management roles. Kedar began his career in 1998 with a role in advertising and joined Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) in 2004 in the sales and marketing function for the company’s ice cream business. He later served as Vice President, Modern Trade and e-commerce businesses, leading HUL’s foray into e-commerce. In 2021, he served on HUL’s Management Committee as Executive Director for Sales and Customer Development and EVP South Asia for Customer Development. He also worked at Kimberly Clark Lever as the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Kedar holds a Masters’ in Business Administration (MBA) from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, with a specialisation in Strategic Marketing and Operations Management. He graduated with a specialisation in brand management and account planning from Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad.
Satyavati Berera is the former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PwC India, with more than four decades of managing diverse portfolios and playing key leadership roles. Before becoming the COO in 2016, she headed the consulting practice and was also the Managing Partner for the firm’s northern region. She served as an Audit Partner from 1995 to 2005. She has extensively worked across industry sectors in the areas of assurance, consulting, governance risk, and compliance services (GRC). She was also involved in designing and implementing control strengthening and process improvement solutions for a variety of domestic and multinational companies. Her role as the COO has given her profound knowledge of finance, operations, human capital, technology, cyber risk, and the regulatory and compliance environment.
She graduated in economics from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
