Abbott India’s director Sabina Ewing, resigns

Abbott India Limited has informed the stock exchanges in a filing that Sabina Ewing, a Director on the company’s Board, has tendered her resignation due to her preoccupation with other professional commitments, effective June 12, 2024.

Ewing is dedicated to transforming IT organisations into strategic enablers, crucial in today’s fast-paced technological landscape. Currently, she is acting as a Global CIO and Vice President of Business and Technology Services for Abbott Laboratories, US. Prior to that, she served as the Global Head of Business Technology for Pfizer Upjohn, headquartered in Shanghai, China. She has also served as Vice President for Corporate Functions & Business Services at BT, supporting Pfizer’s Human Resources, Legal, Corporate Affairs, Corporate Compliance, and Corporate Aviation divisions, as well as the enterprise-wide Global Support Services Organisation.

By emphasising the importance of IT in driving both top-line and bottom-line results, she demonstrates a forward-thinking approach that aligns technology with business objectives. Her extensive experience spanning over two decades equips her with valuable insights and expertise to navigate complex challenges and drive meaningful change within organisations.

Ewing holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce (with concentrations in Management Information Systems and Finance) from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in Systems and Management from New York University.
