JP Power Ventures Restructures Board, Appoints Three Directors, Accepts Resignations of MD, CEO & Directors
Jaiprakash Power Ventures has approved the appointment of three Additional Directors and accepted the resignations of five Board Members following the implementation of the resolution plan for promoter company Jaiprakash Associates.
The Board accepted the resignations of Vice Chairman and Whole-Time Director Sunil Kumar Sharma, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) Suren Jain, and Whole-Time Director Praveen Kumar Singh.
The company also appointed Savan Jayendra Patel, Jayadeb Nanda, and Naresh Telgu as Additional Directors with effect from May 22, 2026. Patel was also named Whole-Time Director for a three-year term, subject to shareholder approval.
Independent Directors Dinesh Kumar Likhi and Suresh Chandra Saxena also resigned from the Board.
Sunil Kumar Sharma has held leadership positions across companies of the Jaypee Group. He served as Executive Vice Chairman of Jaiprakash Associates from 2009 and Vice Chairman of Jaiprakash Power Ventures from 2019. He has been associated with businesses in power, infrastructure, hospitality, logistics, and healthcare sectors. He has served on the Boards of companies including Jaypee Fertilizers & Industries, Jaypee Hotels, Jaypee Infrastructure Development, Prayagraj Power Generation, and Jaypee Arunachal Power. Earlier, he also held directorships at Jaypee Infratech, Jaypee Sports International, and other group companies. Sharma completed his undergraduate studies at Chaudhary Charan Singh University.
Suren Jain has held leadership roles across companies of the Jaypee Group. He served as CEO, MD, and Executive Director of Jaiprakash Power Ventures and was also Chairman of Jaypee Uttar Bharat Vikas. He has served on the Boards of several companies, including Jaypee Hotels, Prayagraj Power Generation, Jaypee Infrastructure Development, Jaypee Ventures, and Jaypee Petroleum. His experience spans power generation, infrastructure, mining, logistics, hospitality, and energy businesses. Earlier in his career, he also held directorships at Jaiprakash Associates, Jaypee Karcham Hydro, Sangam Power Generation, and other group companies. Jain completed his undergraduate studies at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.
Praveen Kumar Singh has been associated with several companies of the Jaypee Group across infrastructure and power businesses. He served as Executive Director of Jaiprakash Power Ventures and also held directorships at Jaypee Ventures, Jaypee Infra Ventures, Jaypee Meghalaya Power, and Jaypee Technical Consultants. He has been involved in the group’s operations linked to power generation, infrastructure development, and project management. Singh completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Bangalore.
