JK Lakshmi Cement Appoints Vinita Singhania as Chairperson & MD, Bharat Hari Singhania is designated Chairman Emeritus

The Board of Directors of JK Lakshmi Cement Limited has approved the appointment of Bharat Hari Singhania as Chairman Emeritus for life and Strategic Advisor to the Board with effect from April 1, 2024. The Board redesignates Vinita Singhania as Chairperson and Managing Director with effect from April 1, 2024.

Bharat Hari Singhania has over sixty years of experience in overseeing diverse industries such as automotive tyres, paper, and synthetics, among others. Initially appointed as Vice Chairman and Managing Director in December 2001, he assumed the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors at JK Lakshmi Cement in May 2013. Under his leadership, JK Lakshmi Cement has executed numerous capacity expansion initiatives, diversified its portfolio with value-added products, and successfully launched the first phase of the Greenfield Project at Durg. He has significantly contributed to the overall increase in production capacity.

Vinita Singhania has over four decades of diverse industry experience. Her profound business management expertise in the cement sector has led to multiple efficiency enhancements within the company. She is also heading the “CSR Committee” at the corporate level, in adherence to company law. The company had initiated various community development and welfare projects well before the enactment of the CSR Law by the Indian government in 2013. She has received accolades such as ‘Woman of the Year’ by Uday India, ‘Construction Woman of the Year 2016’ by Construction Times, and ‘Most Powerful Woman of the Year’ by India Today. She was honoured with the Ladies FICCI FLO Awards of Excellence 2022 for Entrepreneurship and the “Best Family Business Led by Women Award” by Money Control Pro (Network 18).
