IndusInd Bank Appoints Lingam Prabhakar & Rakesh Bhatia as Independent Directors

The Board of Directors of IndusInd Bank Limited has approved the appointment of Lingam Venkata Prabhakar and Rakesh Bhatia as Additional Directors in the category of Non-Executive Independent Directors with effect from March 30, 2024. Subject to the approval of the shareholders.

Prabhakar served as MD and CEO of Canara Bank from February 2020 to December 2022. Earlier, he worked as Executive Director of Punjab National Bank (PNB) from March 2018 to January 2020, handling various key verticals, viz., Credit, Treasury and Human Resources. He holds a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and is a Certified Member of the Indian Institute of Bankers, Mumbai.

Rakesh Bhatia has worked in banking and financial services for around 37 years. Bhatia has over three decades of experience as a banker, having worked in different parts of the world. Over the last seven years, he has focused on the digital and technology space as a venture builder and strategic advisor to B2C and B2B fintech companies in Southeast Asia and India. He has expertise in commercial banking, trade finance, fintech, general banking, risk, and governance. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
