Independent Director Neelam Sonkar resigned from SAIL

The public sector steel major Steel Authority of India has announced that Neelam Sonkar, the company’s Non-Official Independent Director has tendered her resignation for personal reasons, with effect from the close of business hours on April 7, 2024.

Sonker has also been a Member of Parliament (Loksabha) from Lalganj, UP. In the 16th Loksabha (2014–2019), she was a member of the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment and also a member of the National Level Steering Committee on the Stand Up India Programme.

She has completed her Masters from Gorakhpur University.
