Ceat Appoints Milind Sarwate & Sukanya Kripalu as Independent Directors
The Board of Directors of Ceat Limited has appointed Milind Sarwate and Sukanya Kripalu as Additional Directors in the capacity of Non-Executive, Independent Directors for five years, with effect from March 14, 2024. Subject to the approval of shareholders.
Milind Sarwate, 65, is a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, Independent Director, Advisor, Mentor, and ESG Contributor. Sarwate’s independent directorships include Asian Paints, Mahindra Finance, FSN E-Commerce (Nykaa), and Hexaware. He has been on the listed company boards since 2005. His previous board memberships include Mindtree and International Paper. He is the founder and CEO of Increate, where his firms work towards business and social value creation, with a focus on capability-building and the governance and social aspects of ESG. His 40-year experience includes long stints as CFO and CHRO at Marico & Godrej (over 3 decades) and independent directorships (past nearly 2 decades). He has been awarded the ICAI CFO Award, the CNBC TV18 CFO Award, and the CFO India Hall of Fame induction.
Sukanya Kripalu, 64, is a marketing consultant and an independent director across several boards. Kripalu’s experience includes working with leading corporations like Nestle India, Cadbury India, and Kellogg’s India. She was also the CEO of Quadra Advisory, a WPP group company. During her career, she worked on the launch of several new brands, which included Maggi Ketchup, Cadbury Perk, and Kellogg Frosties. She also led advertising campaigns like the Cadbury Dairy Milk Dancing Girl, which was awarded the advertisement of the century. Her consulting at Quadra and thereafter comprised business strategy, marketing, brand building, and training for clients ranging from MNCs to Indian companies to PSUs. She is on the Board of Directors at UltraTech Cement, Colgate India, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail, Aditya Birla Health Insurance Company, and Entertainment Network India (Radio Mirchi). She graduated in mathematics from St. Xavier’s College and is a postgraduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
