Board Stewardship’s July Webinar On Boardroom Insights, Brings Together Global & Indian Governance Leaders !
Board Stewardship hosted the July 2026 edition of Monthly Live Webinar Series, ‘Boardroom Insights,’ on July 3, 2026, bringing together distinguished Board leaders, governance experts, business executives, and sustainability professionals for insightful discussions on the evolving role of Boards in today’s dynamic business environment.
The webinar commenced with a Welcome Address by Vikesh Wallia, Managing Director & Editor, Board Stewardship, who said, “The 22nd edition of the Board Stewardship webinar brought together leading governance experts to examine how behavioural insights, ESG, sustainability and artificial intelligence are reshaping Board leadership and preparing directors for future-ready governance.”
The Inaugural Keynote Address was delivered by Helle Bank Jorgensen, GCB.D, NACD.DC, Global Managing Director – Board Development, Board Intelligence, UK, who stated, “As businesses navigate unprecedented opportunities and challenges, the role of the Board has never been more important. The organisations that succeed will be those whose boards can adapt faster and create long-term value.”
The key highlights of the webinar was the book launch of ‘The Business of Business Is (Not) Just Business: How Behavioural Tools Can Drive Real Change’, authored by Sutapa Banerjee, Independent Director on Multiple Boards and Harvard Fellow Behavioural Insights Advisor. She remarked, “Businesses don’t just shape markets, they shape society. Applying a behavioural insights lens to boardroom decisions can drive better outcomes for business, sustainability and inclusion.”
The book launch was followed by Fireside Chat between Sutapa Banerjee, and Bhaskar Sharma, Board Director – Polycab India & HDB Financial Services and Former CEO, RBL Bank India. Sharma shared, “The Business of Business Is Not Just Business is a timely and thought-provoking book that challenges leaders to rethink how incentives, governance and behaviour shape business outcomes, and why Boards must balance performance with societal expectations.”
The first panel discussion, ‘ESG – Balancing Profits, People and Planet,’ featured Captain Tapas Majumdar (Retd.), Chairman & Managing Director, Niche99 ESG Ratings; Sonvi A. Khanna, CEO, Socomp Solutions Pvt. Ltd.; Hargovind Sachdev, Independent Director on Multiple Boards; and Pramuch Goel, Head – Corporate Affairs, Syngene International Limited. The panel examined how Boards can effectively integrate ESG principles into business strategy while balancing commercial growth with environmental and social responsibilities.
Captain Tapas Majumdar (Retd.) said, “ESG – Balancing Profits, People and Planet” reaffirmed that ESG is far more than reporting or compliance, it is a framework for understanding forward-looking non-financial risks that shape resilience, trust, competitiveness, and long-term value creation.”
The second panel discussion, ‘Sustainability and Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Data or Water?’, brought together Harsha Saxena, Founder & CEO, IICSR Group; Saurabh Singhal, Head – Business Development, Tirkha Consultants & Advisors LLP; and Suhas T.U., Founder & Principal Consultant, Deltastar Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., Singapore. The speakers discussed the opportunities and challenges presented by AI, focusing on its environmental impact, governance considerations, and the role of Boards in ensuring responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
Suhas T.U shared, “The Board’s role in enabling responsible innovation, strengthening data governance, and weighing rising energy demand, environmental impact, and long-term value creation as AI adoption accelerates.”
The webinar concluded with an engaging interactive Q&A session on the Independent Directorship Journey, moderated by Vikesh Wallia, where participants received practical insights into board careers, governance responsibilities, and leadership development.
