Bajaj Auto Reappoints Rajiv Bajaj As MD & CEO; Abhinav Bindra As Independent Director

Bajaj Auto’s Board of Directors has approved Rajivnayan Rahulkumar Bajaj’s reappointment as the company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) effective 1 April 2025.

Further, the company has approved Abhinav Bindra’s reappointment as a Non-Executive Independent Director, effective May 20, 2025. Bindra’s current term will conclude on May 19, 2025.

Rajivnayan Rahulkumar Bajaj joined Bajaj Auto in 1990 and worked across Manufacturing & Supply Chain (1990-1995), R&D and Engineering (1995-2000), and Marketing & Sales (2000-2005). He has been the Managing Director of Bajaj Auto since April 2005. He has received multiple recognitions for his leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Under his leadership, Bajaj Auto was named “Outstanding Company of the Year” at the India Business Leader Awards (IBLA) 2024 by CNBC-TV18 India. Bajaj graduated with distinction in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) in 1988. He completed his master’s degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Warwick in 1991.

Abhinav Bindra is India’s first individual Olympic gold medallist, winning the 10m air rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He has won over 150 medals in his 22-year career and received the Padma Bhushan from the Government of India (GoI). Bindra is the Founder of the Abhinav Bindra Foundation, which works to develop the sporting ecosystem. He is also the Vice Chairman of Abhinav Futuristic Private Limited. The foundation focuses on supporting athletes, grassroots players, and stakeholders.
