Andrew Higginson Steps Down As Chairman Of JD Sports After Board Dispute Over CEO

JD Sports Chairman Andrew (Andy) Higginson has stepped down after failing to secure Board support to remove Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Regis Schultz, according to a report by the Financial Times.

Higginson is a Retail Executive and Board Chair with nearly 35 years of experience as a Director in listed companies across executive and non-executive roles. He spent 15 years as an Executive Director at Tesco and later served as Chairman of Wm Morrison Supermarkets for seven years, where he oversaw a business turnaround and shareholder value creation. He has also held roles as a senior Independent Director at Sky and Flutter Entertainment. Higginson is Chair of the British Retail Consortium and a Non-Executive Director at Majid Al Futtaim. He also leads nomination and disclosure committees.
