Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Appoints Amar Patnaik as Independent Director

The Board of Directors had approved the appointment of Dr. Amar Patnaik as an Additional Director categorised as an Independent Director of the Company for a term of five consecutive years, w.e.f. June 18, 2024, subject to the approval of the Members at the ensuing 39th Annual General Meeting.

Dr. Amar Patnaik, 57, worked on global external audits with the United Nations in New York, Sudan, Uganda, and Italy and has led India’s external audit missions to various countries. He has audited the IT systems of the UN and FAO and several national entities like the Indian Railways and State Governments during his career with the CAG of India. He served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from Odisha. He played a key role in drafting Finance Committee reports, highlighting competition and anti-trust in the digital space and big tech environment. He completed his Ph.D. in institutional studies from XIMB, Bhubaneswar, and has an Advanced Management Certificate from the Wharton School, USA. He holds an MBA from Xavier’s Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, and a Master’s programme in Public Management from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore, and the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
