Peter Burrill Succeeds Evie Kostakis As CFO Of Julius Baer

Julius Baer has appointed Peter Burrill as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a Member of its Executive Board, effective August 17, 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

Burrill succeeds Evangelia (Evie) Kostakis, whose departure was announced in April as part of changes to the bank’s senior leadership following losses linked to lending exposure to the collapsed Signa Holding.

Burrill joins Julius Baer from Standard Chartered, where he most recently served as interim Group CFO. Earlier in his career, he held finance and regulatory roles at Deutsche Bank and KPMG, serving as a Partner. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business/managerial economics from UC Santa Barbara.

Kostakis has served as CFO and Executive Board member at Julius Baer since 2022. She joined the bank in 2013 as Deputy Head of Corporate Development & Strategy. She later held roles as Deputy Head of Investment Management, Head of Alternatives, and Deputy CFO before assuming the CFO position in 2022. Before joining Julius Baer, she spent more than 13 years in the financial services industry, including positions at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and Morgan Stanley Asset Management. She holds a master’s in public policy and is a CFA Charterholder.
