Standard Chartered Appoints Margaret Harwood-Jones As Europe & U.K. CEO

Standard Chartered has appointed Margaret Harwood-Jones as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Europe and the U.K., a newly created role that combines oversight of both markets. The bank also appointed Jörg Hessenmüller as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SCB AG, which oversees its continental European business.

Harwood-Jones is Chair and Board Member of the International Securities Services Association. Before taking on her current role at Standard Chartered, she held leadership positions at the bank as well as at BNP Paribas and HSBC, overseeing sales, relationship management, product management, asset servicing, and corporate trustee businesses. She serves as a director of Zodia Custody and Libeara entities focused on tokenisation. Harwood-Jones has over 30 years of experience in the securities services industry. She is a Chartered Individual of the Securities and Investment Institute and has completed the General Management Programme at INSEAD, France.
