Walmart Leadership Shake-Up Continues As Two Senior Executives Exit Under New CEO
Walmart is undergoing further leadership reshuffles in less than four months after John Furner took over as Chief Executive, with two top executives departing amid the company’s ongoing retail and e-commerce expansion.
According to internal memos, Tom Ward, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Sam’s Club, is retiring, while Cedric Clark, Executive Vice President of U.S. Store Operations, is leaving the company.
Both the departures come as Walmart continues to restructure its leadership team following Furner’s appointment in February. Earlier this year, the retailer promoted Seth Dallaire to Chief Growth Officer, David Guggina to CEO of Walmart U.S., Chris Nicholas to CEO of Walmart International, and Latriece Watkins to CEO of Sam’s Club, reflecting the company’s increasing focus on digital commerce, advertising, marketplace growth and international operations.
