Brandon Craig To Succeed Mike Henry As CEO Of BHP Group

Brandon Craig appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BHP Group effective July 1, 2026, succeeding Mike Henry, who will step down after over six years in the role. Craig will also join the Board of the company.

Craig has served as President Americas since March 2024, overseeing growth strategy across Canada, the United States, and South America. He has led efforts to expand copper output targets for the next decade and supported production planning at Escondida. He has also overseen the Vicuña joint venture and other partnerships in Brazil, Peru, and the United States. Earlier, he led the Western Australia iron ore business, managing mining, rail, and port operations. He joined BHP Group in 1999 and has over 25 years of experience across corporate and operational roles.

Henry has served as CEO of BHP Group since January 2020. He has over 30 years of experience in mining and petroleum across operational, commercial, safety, technology, and marketing roles. He joined BHP in 2003 and became part of the executive leadership team in 2011. Before that, he worked in the resources sector in Canada, Japan, and Australia. He has also worked on engagement with governments, Indigenous groups, and business partners. His role has included oversight of company strategy, workforce practices, and coordination across business units. Henry holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
