Berjis Minoo Desai and Ramachandra Kaundinya Vinnakota appointed as Independent Directors of Hikal

Hikal Limited, a Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company announced the appointment of  Berjis Minoo Desai and Ramachandra Kaundinya Vinnakota as Independent Directors with effect from 1st October 2023.

Berjis Minoo Desai, 65, has spent the last 42 years doing transactional and dispute resolution law. Desai serves on the boards of directors of several prominent Indian public companies, including The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited, Praj Industries Limited, Jubilant FoodWorks Limited, Man Infraconstruction Limited, Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Limited, Star Health & Allied Insurance Company Limited, and Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited.  Desai graduated with first-class honours from Elphinstone College and stood first in the University of Bombay in the LL.B exam.

Vinnakota Ramachandra Kaundinya, popularly known as Kaundy is currently Director General of the Federation of Seed Industry of India. He teaches Agri-Business Strategy to Agri MBA students at IIMA. He held Chief Executive Officer positions at Advanta Ltd, Emergent Genetics India and Cyanamid Agro. He served as a senior member of the management team of Hoechst India for 13 years. He graduated from the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University in Hyderabad with a degree in agriculture. He is also a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad.
