
Voltas Appoints Mukundan C.P. Menon As MD & Sonia Singh As Independent Director; Pradeep Bakshi Set To Retire
Mukundan C.P. Menon, currently Executive Director and Head of Room Air Conditioner Business at Voltas Limited, has been appointed as the Managing Director (Designate) effective April 01, 2025, and subsequently as the Managing Director effective September 01, 2025, subject to the approval of the shareholders.
Sonia Singh has been appointed as an Additional Director and Non-Executive Independent Director of the company, with effect from March 07, 2025, subject to the approval of the shareholders.
Pradeep Bakshi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of the company, has expressed his desire not to seek reappointment upon completion of his current term on August 31, 2025.
Mukundan C.P. Menon is the Executive Director and Head of the Room Air Conditioner Business, with over 38 years of management experience. He currently serves as the President of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Manufacturing Association (RAMA). He has worked in both India and overseas, leading organisations across the HVAC product spectrum, including room air conditioners, commercial air conditioners, and commercial refrigeration products. Menon holds a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, a Graduate Diploma in Management, and has completed executive management programs from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and a Leadership Excellence program at INSEAD, France.
Sonia Singh has over 33 years of experience in marketing, with expertise in creating new categories, brands, functions, and capabilities. She holds an MBA from FMS Delhi and a BA in Economics. She started her career at Lakmé, leading the development of brands across colour cosmetics, skin care, and fragrances. She later served as General Manager Marketing for the Lakmé Business Unit at Hindustan Unilever Limited. Singh has consulted for consumer marketing companies in Europe and Asia. She is an Independent Director on the Boards of several companies, including Pfizer, BASF India, Kansai Nerolac Paints, Bharat Forge, and Axis Asset Management.
