Vishwas Pathak & Deepika Mahajan Conclude Their Tenure As Independent Directors Of MTNL

Vishwas Pathak and Deepika Mahajan have retired as Independent Directors of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), effective April 15, 2026.

Pathak serves as Independent Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee at MSEB Holding, Mahagenco, Mahatransco, and Mahadiscom. He is an advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa and runs Zeromile Consultants Pvt. Ltd. He is a corporate management professional with experience across sectors, including infrastructure, telecom, aviation, media, power, and banking. His experience includes roles in business operations, capital markets, legal, risk management, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He has also served as Additional Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Railways, Coal, and Mines. Pathak holds an M.Com., LLB, and FCS qualifications, and has authored books and articles on governance and the energy sector.

Mahajan is a lawyer with over 30 years of practice at the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and subordinate courts. She has served as a Panel Lawyer for High Court Legal Services and has represented cases before the High Court and subordinate courts. She was appointed Central Government standing counsel by the President of India and has also served as Deputy Advocate General. Mahajan has been empanelled with the National Medical Commission as standing counsel and has acted as an arbitrator appointed by the High Court. Her work includes over 100 reported judgements, and she has also served as a Director at a cooperative bank. She holds MA and LLB qualifications and has worked on constitutional, civil, criminal, and claim matters across original and appellate jurisdictions.
