Vikas Kakatkar & Siva Makutam Retire As Independent Directors Of BEML

Vikas Kakatkakar and Siva Makutam have retired as Independent Directors of BEML Limited, with effect from April 16, 2026.

Kakatkar began his career as a marketing officer with Kirloskar Consultants Pvt. Ltd. and Statfield Systems (Coating) Pvt. Ltd. between 1979 and 1981. He is also the Founder and Director of Jai Hospitals Pvt. Ltd., Nashik. Over the years, he has been associated with banking, education, and social institutions. Since 2019, he has served as President of the Maharashtra Cricket Association, overseeing the administrative functions of the state cricket body. In 1982, he moved into the construction sector in Pune, working on residential and commercial projects. He later took on the role of management consultant with Perfect Machine Tools Ltd. and its group companies. As a member of the Deccan Education Society, Kakatkar has been involved in setting up institutions.

Makutam has worked in chip design and product development with STMicroelectronics, Advanced Micro Devices, Cadence Design Systems, and Texas Instruments. He also served as principal consultant to the Andhra Pradesh government. He was appointed Independent Director at BEML Limited in December 2021. He is also involved in semiconductor ventures and student mentorship initiatives. Makutam is a technocrat and entrepreneur with experience in the semiconductor and electronics sectors. He graduated in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani in 2001 and ranked sixth in the Intermediate examinations in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
