Uno Minda Appoints Ravi Mehra As MD & Nirmal K. Minda As Executive Chairman
Ravi Mehra, currently Deputy Managing Director of Uno Minda Limited, has been appointed as the new Managing Director (MD), while Nirmal Kumar Minda will take on the role of Executive Chairman, effective April 1, 2025.
Further, Shekar Viswanathan and Abhay Damle will join as Independent Directors. Paridhi Minda and Pallak Minda will be appointed as Non-Executive Directors.
The company is separating the Chairman and Managing Director roles to enhance Corporate Governance.
Ravi Mehra has over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry. He has been associated with the company since 1995, starting as General Manager (Finance), and has played a key role in strategy, finance, marketing, manufacturing, materials, HR, and product & technology development. Before joining Uno Minda, he worked with organisations such as Kelvinator and Pure Drinks Group. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Minda has over four decades of experience in the auto components sector and has played a key role in establishing alliances and joint ventures with global partners. Under his leadership, Uno Minda Group expanded its presence and received industry recognition. He has held positions in organisations such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as Vice Chairman of the Haryana State Council and Special Invitee to the Northern Regional Council. He also served as Chairman of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Northern Region, for three years, followed by Vice President in 2016-17 and President in 2017-18. In 2019, Minda received the ‘EY Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award in the manufacturing category.
