Umesh Chowdhary Reappointed As MD & CEO; Titagarh Rail Systems Announces Leadership Updates
Umesh Chowdhary has been reappointed as Vice Chairman, Managing Director, and Chief Executive Officer of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited w.e.f. October 1, 2025.
Vijay Subramanian has been appointed as Chief Transformation Officer and Senior Management Personnel of the company, effective April 7, 2025.
Nayantara Pal Choudhuri has been reappointed as Non-Executive Independent Director of the company and w.e.f. June 22, 2025.
Krishan Kumar Jalan has been reappointed as Non-Executive Independent Director of the company w.e.f. August 13, 2025.
Sushil Kumar Roongta has been reappointed as Non-Executive Independent Director of the company w.e.f. January 1, 2026. All the appointments are subject to the approval of the shareholders.
Aditya Purohit has been appointed as Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of the company w.e.f. June 1, 2025. He will succeed Dinesh Arya, who will be retiring from the same position w.e.f. May 31, 2025.
Chowdhary is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited. He has served as Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (Eastern Region) and the National Committee on Railways, CII. He is also a committee member of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and a Director on the Board of the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation. Since 2010, he has held the position of Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Kolkata. The Italian Republic awarded him the title of Cavaliere Ordine Della Stella D’Italia for his contribution to India–Italy relations.
Vijay Subramanian has 29 years of experience across rolling stock, automotive, chemical, float glass, and process industries. He has spent 18 years in senior roles, including five years as Managing Director at Alstom Transport. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a postgraduate diploma in operations management. Prior to joining Titagarh Rail Systems Limited, he served as CEO of Titagarh Firema SpA, an associate company based in Italy. Throughout his career, he has worked across various functions and sectors, contributing to operations, engineering, and business processes. At Titagarh, he has taken charge as Chief Transformation Officer, focusing on cross-functional coordination to support the company’s operational and strategic objectives under the leadership of the Vice Chairman and Managing Director.
