TTK Prestige Appoints Akila Krishnakumar as Independent Director

The Board of Directors of TTK Prestige Limited approved the appointment of Akila Krishnakumar as an Independent Director with effect from May 1, 2024.

The Board also approved the reappointment of K. Shankaran as whole-time Director with effect from April 1, 2024; his current term of appointment expires on March 31, 2024. Both are subject to the approval of the shareholders.

Akila Krishnakumar has over 30 years of experience in software product development for financial services and education markets worldwide. Krishnakumar is the founding partner of India’s first venture philanthropy organisation, Social Venture Partners, and along with her family, she has set up the MELA Foundation, an organisation that supports innovative ideas in the areas of Ageing, Environment, Learning, and Mental health. She has chaired many business and industry associations in her career. She has also won several awards and accolades, including being among the top 5 women leaders in the Indian technology industry for many years and being listed among the “50 Most Powerful Business Women in India.” She is a graduate of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and also holds a Master’s degree in Management Studies.

K. Shankaran is a qualified Cost and Management Accountant, and Company Secretary, and has industry experience of more than 40 years in specific areas, viz. Finance, Taxation, Corporate laws, Legal, Corporate Governance, Human Resources, and General Business Management. Shankaran has been the Whole-time Secretary of the company from 1990 to 2023. He was inducted as a Director on the Board in 1993. His recent five-year term as a Board Director started on April 1, 2019.
