Toshan Tamhane Set To Step Down As Group COO Of UPL

Toshan Tamhane has resigned as Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) of UPL Limited to pursue entrepreneurial ventures, effective August 31, 2026.

Since joining UPL in 2020, Tamhane has held roles including Chief Digital Officer and Chief Strategy Officer. Before UPL, he was a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he worked across more than 26 countries and served on the committee responsible for electing global partners. He was also recognised among India’s 40 under 40 leaders. He is a published author and has taught as visiting faculty at institutions including IIMs, SP Jain Management and Vedica University. He is also an avid mountaineer and marathoner. Tamhane oversees operational performance, growth, and execution across its businesses, including Crop Protection, Seeds, Post Harvest, and Speciality Chemicals, along with Digital, Analytics, and Shared Services.
