The Board Of HAL Appoints D. K. Sunil As CMD

The Board of Directors of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has appointed Dr. D K Sunil, Director (Engineering and R&D) of the company as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) w.e.f. September 9, 2024. He was holding the additional charge of CMD w.e.f. September 01, 2024.

Prior to taking over as CMD, Dr. D.K. Sunil was holding the post of Director (Engineering and R&D) of the company. He joined HAL in 1987 and has about 37 years of experience in varied roles in the company. He pioneered partnerships with institutions like IIT Kanpur for datalinks and IIIT Hyderabad for voice recognition technologies. He was nominated to be a member of the DGCA External Expert Committee for the certification of the Hindustan-Dornier 228 Aircraft. He did his graduation in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad and M. Tech in Aircraft Production Engineering from IIT, Madras. He also completed Ph.D. in Electronics Science from University of Hyderabad in the year 2019.
