Tata Power appoints Deepesh Nanda as CEO & MD of TPREL
Tata Power has appointed Deepesh Nanda as the President for Renewables and CEO and MD of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a Tata Power subsidiary, with effect from November 1, 2023. Ashish Khanna, who has been with Tata Power for a long time, will now take over as the President of the Generation business cluster. The cluster focuses on things like new hydroelectric storage plants, hydroelectric plants, and other projects in addition to the existing projects in India and abroad.
Deepesh Nanda has 28 years of experience at companies like GE, Flowserve, and Tyco. Before joining Tata Power, he worked at GE Gas Power as the CEO for South Asia and was the President and CEO of GE’s Aero-derivative Gas Turbine business segment for Asia. In his new role, he’ll be in charge of growing and making Tata Power’s renewable energy portfolio more profitable. This includes areas like solar, wind, hybrid, and B2C green energy solutions. He’ll also lead innovation and digital transformation efforts in the renewable energy sector.
Nanda has a degree in Mechanical and Production engineering. He earned an MBA from the Open University Business School in the UK, underwent leadership training at GE Crotonville, and graduated from Annamalai University in India.
