Manoranjan Mishra Appointed Executive Director of RBI

The Reserve Bank of India has appointed Manoranjan Mishra as an Executive Director (ED) with effect from November 1, 2023. Mishra has nearly three decades of experience at the Reserve Bank; his expertise covers bank and NBFC regulation, bank supervision, and currency management. He has also been part of national and international working groups that have helped shape regulatory and supervisory policies, according to the RBI’s press release. Until recently, he was the Chief General Manager in the Department of Regulation. As the Executive Director, he will oversee the Enforcement Department, the Risk Monitoring Department, and the Department of External Investments and Operations, as stated in a central bank press release. He holds a postgraduate degree in Economics, an MBA in Banking and Finance, and a master’s degree in Finance and Financial Regulation from Aston Business School in the UK.
