Tamotsu Hiiro Joins Disney Japan As Managing Director
The Walt Disney Company has appointed Tamotsu Hiiro as the new Managing Director (MD) for its Japan operations.
Hiiro succeeds Carol Choi, who is stepping down after five years but will continue in her regional role as Executive Vice President for APAC studios, original content strategy, networks, and integrated marketing.
Hiiro, formerly president and CEO of McDonald’s Japan, will report to Luke Kang, President of Disney’s Asia Pacific operations.
Before joining McDonald’s, Hiiro spent three decades at Johnson & Johnson, where he served as President of its Japan division. Beyond his corporate leadership roles, Hiiro also serves as Vice Chair of Keizai Doyukai, the Japan Association of Corporate Executives. Disney’s presence in Japan began in 1959, and it now operates across multiple entertainment sectors, including studios, streaming, theme parks, and retail.
