
Senthil Chengalvarayan To Step Down As NDTV Whole-Time Director, Continues As Non-Executive Director
Veteran journalist Senthil Chengalvarayan will step down as NDTV’s Whole-Time Director, effective April 1, 2025, while continuing as a Non-Executive Director. NDTV announced this transition through a regulatory filing, citing personal reasons.
NDTV also reappointed Upendra Kumar Sinha, Dipali Goenka, and Dinesh Kumar Mittal as Independent Directors for another three-year term. Sinha will continue as Independent Director and Chairperson from March 27, 2025.
Goenka’s and Mittal’s terms will also last three years, starting March 27, 2025, and June 27, 2025, respectively.
Senthil Chengalvarayan was the Founding Editor of CNBC TV18 and later served as Editor-in-Chief of Network18’s Business Newsroom. In this role, he led multiple verticals, including CNBC TV18, CNBC Awaaz, Forbes India, and financial portals. He played a key role in launching CNBC TV18 as its editor in 1999. Under his leadership, the channel established itself as a prominent business news network. Chengalvarayan started his journalism career with The Economic Times and Business Standard before transitioning to television. His work contributed to the growth of business journalism in India.
