Sarthak Misra becomes a partner at SoftBank India

SoftBank India has promoted Sarthak Misra, its Investment Director, to partner, according to sources. According to numerous sources with knowledge of the situation who spoke with ET on Tuesday, the technology-focused investment firm also notified its portfolio companies in India of the same.

Misra, who transitioned to SoftBank from Matrix Partners India in 2019, holds positions on the boards of e-commerce company Meesho and business-to-business retailer Of Business. Additionally, Misra collaborates closely with firms such as Swiggy and Lenskart. He will continue to report to SoftBank’s Managing Partner for India and EMEA, Sumer Juneja, who oversees the fund’s India and Europe markets.

Since the previous year, SoftBank has been exiting publicly listed companies such as Paytm, Policybazaar, Delhivery, and Zomato. Furthermore, two SoftBank portfolio firms, FirstCry and Ola Electric, have submitted draft IPO papers for public listing this year. Swiggy, a food and grocery delivery firm, is also gearing up to file its draft red herring prospectus for an IPO in the same timeframe.
