Sanjay Mishra, COO of Marico’s India Business Resigns
Marico’s India Business COO Sanjay Mishra has resigned to take another opportunity, Mishra submitted his resignation on September 11, 2023, and 15 December will be his last day at Marico.
Before joining Marico, Sanjay worked at PepsiCo. Where he began his career in 2009 as the Sales Director for Traditional Trade in India. In 2010, he rose to the position of Market Unit General Manager for West India and after that, he took charge as the Senior Director for GTM (Go to market) and Sales Capability at PepsiCo Asia Middle East and North Africa (AMENA) in 2013. In that role, he was responsible for implementing GTM transformations in key AMENA markets.
Before his time at PepsiCo, in 2006, he held the position of Vice President of Merchandising at Spencer’s Retail Limited in India, where he played a significant role in expanding Spencer’s presence. He also led the initiative to bring the international retail food chain “Au Bon Pain,” a Boston-based Bakery Café Chain, to India in collaboration with his company and led various new ventures. Mishra’s career began in 1995 at Dunlop India.
Marico announced that Vaibhav Bhanchawat, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer for South East Asia & South Africa, will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer for India & Foods Business, starting from October 1, 2023. Bhanchawat will oversee Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and the food business in India. Bhanchawat joined in 2020 as Executive Vice President and Business Head – of South-East Asia, and has led the revamping of Marico’s South East Asia (SEA) business He has spent a significant part of his career with GSK Consumer Healthcare where he worked in various roles across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
In another key appointment, Ashish Goupal, who is currently the COO of Marico Bangladesh, MENA, and NCD (New Country Development), will become the CEO of Marico’s international operations, which include South East Asia and South Africa with effect from October 1, 2023.
