RBI Appoints Pradeep Kumar Sinha as ICICI Bank’s Part-Time Chairman

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the appointment of Pradeep Kumar Sinha to assume the role of part-time Chairman at ICICI Bank for a period of three years with effect from July 1, 2024.

Sinha started his career in the Indian Administrative Service in 1977, subsequent to earning his Masters in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics in 1976. His academic journey began with an undergraduate degree in economics from St. Stephens College, Delhi. His professional trajectory included roles in Uttar Pradesh, followed by significant tenure within the Government of India, culminating in his appointment to the prestigious position of Cabinet Secretary. He held this esteemed role for over four years before transitioning to the Prime Minister’s Office. His dedicated service spanned 44 years until his retirement in March 2021.
