PhonePe Share.Market CEO Ujjwal Jain Steps Down After Four Years

Ujjwal Jain has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Share.Market, the stock trading platform owned by PhonePe, ending a four-year stint with the company. He said the move marks the start of a new phase focused on building another venture.

Jain founded WealthDesk and OpenQ, which were acquired by PhonePe in 2022. He later led the launch of Share.Market in August 2023. He is a fintech entrepreneur with experience across technology, trading, and investment platforms. He has worked with D. E. Shaw & Co. and MSCI Inc., focusing on trading systems, hedge funds, and index-based products. His work includes electronic trading, algorithmic strategies, portfolio analytics, and brokerage systems across institutional and retail segments. He was involved in setting up an institutional brokerage venture linked to Reliance Industries, where he worked on applying global technology frameworks to Indian markets. In 2016, he moved to build investment technology ventures focused on domestic capital markets.
