Phiroz Vandrevala, Former Director Of TCS, Passes Away

Tata Group veteran Phiroz Vandrevala passed away at the age of 70. He was a board member of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) until 2016. Vandrevala also served as the chairman of the IT industry body, Nasscom. A Chartered Accountant by training, Vandrevala played a crucial role in TCS’s stupendous success as one of the top wealth creators in India. He played a lead role in executing the company’s initial public offering in 2004, exploring new markets, and guiding a new generation of TCS professionals, according to the company’s post on X. He joined the Tata Group in Mumbai in 1982 and soon became an integral member of the leadership team, serving as an Executive Director from 2007 to 2016. During this time, he held the position of head of global corporate affairs at the company. He actively served on the expert committees set up by regulators and industry advisory bodies.
